I’m definitely one to record most of my meals and outings. But, for some reason, on my last couple of visits to Las Vegas I abandon my food blog duties altogether. I guess I was in the “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” mood, haha. There are so many award-winning restaurants to choose from in Vegas so this is just a brief highlight of a couple of places I went to. I can’t wait to go back and next time I’ll definitely be prepared with a list of must-go’s and my phone ready to take pics 😉
- Scarpetta at The Cosmopolitan: This is chef Scott Conant’s modern Italian restaurant. I’ve dined here twice and enjoyed both meals very much! I highly recommend getting the Short Rib Agnolotti with brown butter, horseradish & toasted breadcrumbs. I remembered this dish the first time I went last April and ordered it again when I was in Vegas in December. What I love most about it is the play on textures; the tender pasta and slight crunchiness from the breadcrumbs – I love it! For dessert (pictured below), we had the Nutella & Vanilla Bomboloni with nutella ganache, banana gelato & chocolate shortbread.
2. Jean Philippe Patisserie at The Aria: If you’re looking for a casual spot for a little dessert and coffee or a quick lunch then this is the place. It’s a french pastry shop that also includes gelato on one end and the bakery on the other. You can get a sweet treat or a sandwich or salad. I chose their salmon sandwich (pictured below) which I really liked!
3. Sushi Roku at The Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace: After walking what seemed like miles around the Bellagio and then through the Form Shops at Caesar’s Palace we were famished. We opted for sushi and came across Sushi Roku. It was nicely decorated with views of the strip and our meal was great. We both started off with the organic garden salad with yuzu ginger dressing- it was delicious and a large portion; loved the dressing! Then, we had a Chilean Sea Bass skewer with yakitori sauce, spicy tuna hand roll (middle), tuna jalapeno roll (top), and the katana roll (bottom).
