27 Restaurant & Bar

27 Restaurant & Bar, located at the Freehand Miami, offers delicious food and cocktails in a laid-back atmosphere.  I absolutely loved the charming and home-y feel of the restaurant.  They use local, fresh ingredients and some of the produce is even grown on site in their garden.

It was actually ranked #1 on Eater’s 16 Essential Brunch Spots in Miami.  Naturally, I was very excited to try it especially since I love the Freehand’s on site bar- The Broken Shaker.

Brunchy Spritz: Passion Fruit, Aperol, Bombay Dry Gin, Hopped Grapefruit Bitters, Cava

The refreshing “Brunchy Spritz” was the perfect choice for a hot Sunday in Miami.  We opted to turn the cocktail into a pitcher, I mean why not, Sunday Funday right?! 😉

Elad’s Shakshuka: Two eggs, ZTB bread

The shakshuka was very good especially paired with toasted bread to dip into the tomato-rich sauce.  I’ve actually never had shakshuka before, which is widely known as an Israeli breakfast dish, and was pleasantly surprised.  From here on out I definitely want to try it everywhere!

Seasonal Eggs Benedict- Falafel Eggs Benedict: poached egg on top of falafel with kale salad & roasted chickpeas on the side

The restaurant rotates their eggs Benedict and on this particular Sunday they were offering Falafel Eggs Benedict.  It was unique and excellent!  The poached egg was on top of falafel with a side of kale salad and my favorite roasted chickpeas.  My only complaint was the size of the dish. I wish it came with a pair of eggs on falafel as in a traditional eggs Benedict dish, especially because we were sharing everything.

Bananas  Foster Pancakes with Ice Cream

And finally, to end the brunch on a sweet note we ordered the bananas foster pancakes.  It came with 3 pancakes and the most delicious topping of ice cream and sauteed bananas.
