Peppers – the laid back, fast casual Mexican eatery with locations in Brickell and SoBe is now open in Pinecrest! They just opened a cool new location in Dadeland Plaza; the shopping center that has Roasters & Toasters and Five Guys on US-1. Their new digs include festive murals, hanging foliage, decorative vintage-style tile work, and a nice bar at the entrance serving up chilly margs 😉 A few of us were invited to try their menu items in the newly minted location. See below for more pics and details!
The owner and founder of Peppers, David Gonzalez (born and raised in Mexico), definitely boasted about their made-in-house fresh salsas and revealed that they will be including a couple more on the menu. They were indeed very good especially on the tacos and other dishes they served!
We started off with an array of appetizers including tortilla chips, salsa, guacamole and flautas (chicken flautas pictured above). I liked the guacamole because I could definitely taste the lime juice!
Chicken in hard shells tacos with cabbage, onions, sour cream, baja salsa and cilantro.
Pictured above is the chicken quesadilla made with flour tortilla, melted monterey cheese, chipotle mayo and with salsa, sour cream, and guacamole in the center.
The chicken enchiladas had plenty of large, tender pieces of chicken inside the corn tortillas which was nice! The enchiladas (Choice of: Cheese, Chicken, Ground Beef, or Steak) include 3 rolled tortillas with creamy tomatillo sauce, sour cream, chopped onions and melted cheese.
The steak tacos were accompanied by their soft, fresh hand-made tortillas with a sprinkling of onions and cilantro on top.
Peppers also has lighter fare like salads, and the choice of lettuce wraps for tacos and even a vegan option with their Vegano Burrito. Overall, the new Peppers has a nice and vibrant atmosphere, fresh tasting food with plenty of options, really yummy salsas and guac and of course you can’t miss the bar!
