Sometimes happy hours can be hit-or-miss. Come drink for free, they say. Buy one get one, they say. Half off food, they say. All sorts of combinations and promos are offered but at the end of the evening you might be left with a standard well drink and some soggy fries. And I’m guessing that’s not what you were envisioning while you were hustling at work.
On the search for a good happy hour, my friend and I decided to try EDGE Steak & Bar at the Four Seasons on Brickell Avenue. Their happy hour specials were on point! They have happy hour daily from 4pm – 7pm. The happy hour menu includes dishes from their small bites menu which are 2 for 1 and they even have $1 oysters. Their draft beer, well drinks, specialty cocktails and a selection of wines are half off.
First off, as soon as you’re seated you’re given a basket of crispy potato chips that were actually amazing!! We couldn’t stop eating them and I think we even got another helping. We then ordered the “Not So Collins Ave.” that had Bombay dry gin, pear puree, and rosemary-clove reduction. Next to it; a refreshing glass of prosecco.
There were plenty of good contenders to choose from on the small bites menu. We decided on the Chorizo and cheddar croquetas with romesco sauce and the Tostones with avocado chimichurri and queso fresco. The croquetas are definitely a must have!
For our main dish, we ended up splitting the Lobster & Shrimp Roll. It had Maine lobster and lemon poached shrimp, avocado, tomato jam all on a brioche roll. It was delicious and I loved the grilled and buttery brioche roll.
I really enjoyed our happy hour at Edge and the overall ambiance. It has a really nice and sophisticated but laid back bar. They also have an outdoor terrace where I’d like to sit next time since the weather is cooling down!
