I created YouHadMeAtFood.com in November 2013 after a whirlwind of travels from California to New York City and all the way to Argentina and Chile. I love traveling, trying new foods, and cooking and thought what better way to share and document all of my culinary experiences. Et voila! You Had Me At Food was born.
On a personal note, I basically grew up in the kitchen. My Cuban mother and Persian father both cooked and loved food equally. I feel lucky that I was able to have had such a wide variety of aromas and tastes in the kitchen; whether we were cooking picadillo or ghormeh sabzi. My passion for food only blossomed over the years. I love learning new cooking techniques, experimenting with ingredients, and trying new foods.
In the kitchen, and in life, I think you need to be fearless. As you will see, in my blog posts, I always encourage experimenting and deviating from the recipe a bit. I’m not a chef or professionally trained but I’ve learned through mistakes in the kitchen and that’s the best way! Cooking should be fun!
In this blog, along with recipes, I hope to uncover great places to eat too! It’s a tough job but someone’s gotta do it. 😉
